I’ve been thinking a lot after my episode and I realised that whilst I was in it, I could sense that a lot of people had a lot of questions so I decided that maybe I should let you ask themI want to give as many people as possible the opportunity to ask me any and all questions they may have about Borderline Personality Disorder, my traumatic past, growing up as a British Indian girl, my anxiety, my depression, my journey through therapy, basically anything and everything down to my favourite colour and I will do my best to answer each and every single question I get.
I have been searching for ways to make a meaningful impact on society about the challenges of mental health and I feel the best way to do that is to be as candid as possible about my experience living with a mental health disability.
That being said, if some of these questions pose a risk to my friends and family then I will of course be unable to answer them, however, if they don’t then I will be as honest as I can and tell you my answer.
In order for me to do this I need you guys, my trusty reader-friends, to ask me some of the questions you’ve wanted to know the answer to but have been too scared to ask.
I’d like to think I’m working towards trying to be as non-judgemental as possible therefore I’d like to let you know that nothing that you say will be taken personally.
This is just an opportunity for people to know what it’s like for someone who has a mental health condition. Granted we are not all the same but if I can encourage a dialogue between myself and other people perhaps this can encourage a positive dialogue between other people as well. As they say knowledge is power and the more we know about how mental illnesses affects different people the better equipped we are to help.
So please, be brave and ask away – you can contact me via my mobile number (for you lucky people that have it!!) Facebook, Instagram (@crazy_happy_lady) and Twitter (@ShrinaMayur)
Use the hashtag #CanIaskyousomething
I am going to be doing a video with the questions and my answers next week. So get cracking and I look forward to hearing from you guys soon
